Jesse Todd Dockery was born and raised in Gray Hawk, Kentucky, in the shadow of the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Dockery self-published countless zines and over twenty collections of writings and artwork, most of which were released under his Hanging Dog Productions imprint (including collaborations with British outsider artist/musician Sexton Ming). Exhibiting as a "fine artist," he was included in the Folk Art of the Twenty-First Century show at the Kentucky Museum of Arts + Design and was selected as one of eight international artists to be in the Stuckists Punk Victorian exhibition, published in the catalog for the show at the National Museum'sWalker Gallery in Liverpool. Dockery's work has been included in many group shows, in addition to three regional one-man shows. His career-spanning interview with Hubert Selby, Jr. saw print in the seventh issue of X-Ray Magazine. Dockery also performed on what was to be the final album, Night Life, by the late, great Hasil Adkins. J.T. Dockery currently lives and works in Lexington, KY. He continues to perform in garage bands. He has most recently completed theIn Tongues Illustrated book. He is now working with authorNick Toscheson developing his script Spud Crazy into a graphic novel, as well as working in collaboration with Brine Manley on Creekwater, currently being serialized in North of Center. He is also working on his next solo book as both writer and artist, The Organ-Grinder.
